Above-Ground Activity

On April 16th, the prices revert to normal admission costs.

Canoe and Kayak Trips:

You can bring your own or rent them at Mammoth Cave Canoe and Kayak. They will donate $5.00 back to the grotto for anyone who rents a canoe or kayak from them if you tell them you are with the Speleofest. Their numbers are: 1-877-592-2663 or 270-773-3366.

Big Buffalo Crossing is also offering canoe and kayak rentals, and will donate $5.00 to the grotto for anyone who tells them that they are with Speleofest.  Their numbers are 1-866-233-2690 or 270-774-7883, or you can visit their website for more information.

We will have two lead trips down the Green River. The Green River goes through Mammoth Cave National Park and is mostly flat water moving slowly. The river is natural and flow is based on rain fall. One trip is a 6-mile and the other is a 12-mile. On the short trip the water moves faster than the longer trip but water flows on average about 2.5 to 3 miles per hour.

Geocaching:

There are three to five spots available to those who are experienced, or just beginning to enjoy, geocaching! Ask the registration/check-in booth for information.

Open anytime:

A Horseshoe Pit, Tire swing, Red Neck Golf, and a Cave Box are set up early for everyone's use anytime you find you have free time.

Family Activities:

Join your kids, and others just becoming interested in Caving, in the Caving 101 class and stay to watch your kids learn about Rocks and Minerals--and take home their own collection!
Work as a family team in the Kids and Parents Treasure Hunt.
Everyone can have fun watching or participating in the Pie Eating Contest, Watermelon Seed Spitting Competition, Tug-a-War and Fishing Accuracy.

Kids Activities:

Need something just for the kids? Let them try the relay race and balloon toss or make a tie-dyed T-shirt or sand art vase. After their party-time, settle them on the trailer for a Hayride.

Adult Activities:

Try your skill for prizes at the Skill Contests for Vertical, Squeeze Box, Frog Ascension and Slack Line. Stay out late for the Adult Scavenger Hunt and Hayride! Before that meet Bond, James Bond…at the Casino Royale Party. Just bring your best James Bond attire and win Best Dressed.

Photo Contest:

Submit your Photo. Voting for various prizes will continue until 7:20 pm CST Sunday night. A bulletin will follow with details...stayed tuned.

Food, Guest Speaker, and Door Prizes:

Sunday night brings the Banquet. Good food and lots of it. Following dessert, sit back and enjoy a guest speaker from the amazing world of Cave and Karst. Information about the speaker will follow. Watch for that bulletin soon! Then stay around, pull out your number and listen! Maybe you'll go home with an awesome door prize!
